State of Arkansas Board of Examiners of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors
Licensure Information
A two-tier licensure system is currently available. The most significant difference in level of licensure relates to the level of education:
- Licensed Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) – holds a masters degree in the health or behavioral sciences field or other appropriate field from an accredited college or university;
- Licensed Associate Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (LAADAC) – holds a baccalaureate degree in the health or behavioral sciences field or other appropriate field from an accredited college or university;
All applications are reviewed by the Credentialing Committee and presented to the Board for approval at the next regularly scheduled meeting following receipt of all required documents.
